The ANCHO POBLANO is a very popular Mexican chilli. Called Poblano when fresh and Ancho when dried, this chilli has lots of fruity flavour. It is ideal for stuffing and baking, or to use instead of capsicum to add a kick to any dish. It is often used in its dried form, when it takes on a smoky flavour.

Description:

The CASCABEL is a popular Mexican chilli that is often used in its dried state. Fruity when eaten fresh, it takes on more of a smoky, woody flavour when dried. This variety is also a good one for frying or roasting.

The CHUPETINHO RED (aka Biquinho, Nipple, Little Beak Chilli) is an heirloom from the c. chinense species, the same family as habaneros and superhot varieties. It has a similar fruity flavour to the hotter varieties (with some berry-like undertones) but with much less heat. The heat of this chilli tends to dissipate quite quickly. Perfect for those who like the flavour of the hotter varieties but not too much heat.

Description:

The GUINDILLA (AKA Guindilla Verde, Piparras) is one of the flavoursome chillies from the Basque region of Spain. It has a delicious sweet flavour and makes popular tapas when it is either pickled, or fried in garlic and olive oil. While this chilli is sweet when young and green, it develops a touch of heat if left to ripen to red. This chilli dries well and makes tasty flakes or powder.

Description:

The PIMIENTOS DE PADRON is an heirloom chilli that was brought to Spain in the 16th century by monks returning from the Spanish colonies in South America. These chillies are traditionally picked when green and fried in olive oil and salt to make a very popular and delicious Spanish tapas. The Pimientos de Padron is also referred to as the roulette chilli because, although generally mild in the green stage of development, some chillies will develop more heat as they mature. The fun is not knowing which ones will be hotter.

The UBATUBA CAMBUCI is a mild and crunchy chilli with lots of fruity, apple-like flavour. Its flesh has little to no heat, but a tingle of heat can be detected in its placenta. Great in salads and can be stuffed and baked. It has an unusual and attractive shape, making the plant an interesting one to have in the garden.
